The church is made entirely of wood, including the nails and is one of the few building in Almaty that survived the 1911 earthquake.
The monument is dedicated to the heroes of WWII
We spent two days up at the ski resort in the mountains above Almaty. Our hotel was about a mile walk up a iced over road. The skiing was great. Sadie enjoyed sledding with Austin and Big Sadie and eating the clean snow. It definitely made us miss the mountains.
