Another Monastery hike

The first time everyone went on the Monastery hike this year, I was sick and couldn't go. So this was a second go. It was a beautiful day.

This castle is along the river on the drive to the trailhead. It's barely visible from the road, but someone had seen it and wanted to explore. We were all too shy and tired from our hike, so we didn't cross the river, just stood on the hill on the other side and looked. It is entirely built from the river rocks that surround it. It was rumored that an old man lives there and continues to work on it. As we stood there looking at it, the old man emerged and waved. He began piling rocks on the wall as if to say "look, I'm still working!" Looking close you can see him next to the last turret, in a brown shirt.
