Almaty!

We moved to Almaty this August. It has been such a great move for us. The neighborhood is great, we have great neighbors with a little girl, a friend for Sadie named Lina. The school is bigger with more going on and more resources. I love teaching art part time. I have one AP art class and also teach Art 1, middle school and 9's and 10's for one class each. John is enjoying his role at DI for the most part, but dreaming of retiring to the beach someday with his laptop and real estate schemes.

We gone on several hikes up in the mountains already. There is a teacher here who is always organizing trips. We found an old backpack at a second hand shop here, cut out the sides and Sadie fits in just perfectly. So we just take turns with her in the pack while we hike. I went on one really long 20k trek straight up to a peak called 3 brothers and then beyond to a different summit and the next weekend John went canoeing down the Ille river.
