New kitty, Making Kimchi and Great Gatsby Ball

Our new kitty is so special. She is very very mellow and tolerant of all of Sadie's "love" Even with all the manhandling that she tolerates during the day, she is quick to seek Sadie out when she falls asleep so she can snuggle up with her. We have several pictures of the two of them curled up together.

Sadie and I went out to the Korean hotel/hotsprings with the Phelps and DK and Susan to learn how to make kimchi. It was a great day. Fresh kimchi is so delicious! Sadie jumped into the hotsprings with the big kids while we made the kimchi.
We mixed fresh garlic, ginger, red chili and two different kinds of fish sauce in a big vat. Then we rubbed the mixture into the leaves of the cabbages. I think traditionally the kimchi is stored in clay jars and allowed to ferment for about a year, but we just let it sit for three days.

I went and jumped in the springs with Sadie after finishing the kimchi. The springs are the perfect temperature so that you can sit in them for long periods of time without feeling too cold or too hot.
The Great Gatsby Charity Ball!
John and I were really undecided about going to this event, but in the end we did it. It was so much fun getting dressed up and seeing everyones take on 20's fashion.

Dan was especially dapper (white hat) he had his suit specially made for the event! John and I just found old things and accessorized to make it 20's.

We actually took a couple of dance lessons in preparation for the event. I thought it was a little overkill to take lessons just for one evening, but being able to dance ended up being the funnest part of the evening. Our table was up and dancing the entire time.
